Volunteers help repair and improve Potato Creek

NORTH LIBERTY, Ind. – Volunteers joined the RV Industry Association on Wednesday to help clean up, repair and improve conditions at Potato Creek State Park.

Coming from a handful of different RV companies, the volunteers combined their efforts to clean trails, repair bridges, landscape, paint and even build a stage for educational presentations at Potato Creek.

Association volunteers take the opportunity to create positive change for RV-friendly areas while building teamwork and learning industry skills from other companies that also participate.

“It’s a great way to build a team, isn’t it? So we not only build team spirit within our own companies, but we also build team spirit within the industry. Get to know people in the industry in different roles. We have a lot of skills in this industry, whether it’s marketing, construction, trades, just different types of things that they all use today,” said Michilah Grimes, impact director about business and community at Lippert Components, Inc.

Wednesday’s volunteer activity at Potato Creek was the first of its kind for the association. The group looks forward to hosting similar events at other parks in the future.
