Lenawee Christian Boys Basketball rally in front of Sand Creek

SAND CREEK — The Lenawee Christian Boys’ Basketball Team staged a fourth quarter rally to eliminate hosting Sand Creek 51-47 on Saturday afternoon.

Brandon Summer led the Cougars offensively with 16 points, while Tyler VanEtten scored nine of his 14 points in the fourth quarter as LCS (6-5) edged Sand Creek 17-10 in the frame.

Tylan Waltz led both teams in scoring with 21 points for the Aggies (1-7), who trailed 9-4 after one and 23-12 at halftime before beating LCS 25-11 in the third quarter to take a lead 37-34. on the fourth.

COMPETITIVE SUPPORT

Adrian, Clinton, Madison at the Tecumseh Invitational: The Maple, Redwolves and Trojan cheer squads traveled to Tecumseh on Saturday for a five-team encounter, with Madison emerging as the champion.

The Trojans, who were the only team to participate in a third round on Saturday, scored 778.12 points, eliminating the runner-up host team which totaled 430.87, while Clinton finished with a total of 342.6 in third and Adrian (189.7) finished fifth, just behind Parma Western (190.2).

Madison scored 219.5 in the first round and 276.92 before finishing the competition with a 281.7, while Tecumseh tallied 212.1 and 218.77 in their rounds.

Clinton scored 194.6 in the first round and then finished her day with a total of 148.
