These are continuous sessions. Dates and times will be established by the veteran and the clinician.

This is a comprehensive program to help veterans struggling with anger and conflict in their relationships. There are 12 two-hour sessions that focus on:

Understand abusive behavior and take responsibility for abuse, understand anger and trauma, learn ways to defuse situations that can lead to conflict and aggression, learn to view situations in a less hostile way , manage anger and stress more effectively, and communicate in more assertive ways.

This group is offered to give Veterans the opportunity to call to discuss any concerns or issues they have. COVID 19 has created an extremely stressful time for veterans in the community. The social isolation imposed on individuals can create stress. This will be an opportunity to share with each other.

FOCUS ON RECOVERY

This is a thematic group that examines various components of recovery. Veterans attending the group are expected to participate in discussions on various aspects of recovery. (i.e. honesty, triggers, boundaries, relapse, etc.).

Survive and thrive all day

This group will meet weekly to discuss the daily struggles we face in our daily routines. Through the use of stress management information, discussion and support activities, the group will explore how our ability to cope with the difficulties we face is affected by our perspective.

Topics can range from finding affordable housing to communicating with landlords, reviewing orientation materials, reviewing resources, and more.

The Weekend Check-In: Peer Support Group

Peer support groups are for people recovering from mental health. In this group, you will support each other while engaging in the recovery process and discuss many other benefits available to Veterans. Groups are facilitated by Certified Peer Support Specialists who help promote self-determination and help others regain control of their own lives while embracing the recovery model.

Relaxation Chair

Therapeutic goals:

Relax, strengthen and energize your mind and body without leaving your seat! During the sessions, we will go through simple routines including chair poses, stretches and relaxation techniques in a supportive environment. It’s a great way to not only maintain and build strength and flexibility, but also help calm your mind. This group can be enjoyed without having any experience.

Integrated spirituality and recovery

Therapeutic goals:

Integrated Spirituality & Recovery (IS&R) is the “spiritual” version of the 12-step program. At each step, it helps the veteran to see how, by embracing their higher power for long-term sobriety and abstinence from drugs, they are allowing a new narrative to be written in their life.

Healthy lifestyle and ask the nurse


This group is dedicated to educating veterans on the importance of healthy living associated with diet, sleep, and other self-care topics. A portion of this group will also be designated for a Q&A session regarding medical conditions and medication education. These subjects will be defined beforehand in order to avoid any possible disclosure to PHI.

Learn to help others

The purpose of this group is to educate veterans on how they can learn peer support skills to set up support groups or how to interact with a veteran who is struggling to recover.
