Awards for Langhorne Creek’s Best Cellar Door have been announced • Glam Adelaide

Gourmet Traveler Wine has announced this year’s winners for the 2022 Best Cellar Door Awards for Langhorne Creek in South Australia.

Their team of experts across Australia scoured the country for the best experiences for 2022, revealed in Gourmet Traveler Wine’s region-by-region guide to Australia’s best cellar doors, backed by Coravin.

Located 70 km from Adelaide, Langhorne Creek is on the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia, 70 km from Adelaide. The region is located between the Adelaide Hills and Lake Alexandrina and is known for its Cabernet Sauvignon – warm, smooth, generous and immediately drinkable. Langhorne Creek has the world’s oldest family-owned cabernet vines still in production, owned by Brothers in Arms Wines in the Lake Plains region.

This year’s awards celebrated the best of the region, with some deserving wineries taking top honors.

Having recently won a Tourism Excellence award in the Wineries, Distilleries and Breweries category at the South Australian Tourism Awards, Kimbolton Wines is no stranger to accolades.

Their cellar door is a fantastic extension of their brand, combining a unique mix of converted industrial shipping containers in high gloss navy blue with reclaimed wood and plywood features to create a modern and welcoming setting nestled between gum trees and the vines.

Kimbolton is proud to expand and evolve the traditional wine tasting experience to create a welcoming and family friendly tourist destination. With unique experiences and packages on offer, there’s something for everyone at Kimbolton’s cellar door. Bookable experiences include wine and cheese flights, children’s flights and couples’ experiences, to name a few.

A rustic limestone shed built in the early 1930s became the home of Lake Breeze wines. Further renovations have given them the opportunity to take advantage of the stunning vineyard views and provide contemporary dining and reception space.

The cellar door is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
